ATHENS CAPITAL 1834, Anniversary Concert for the 190th anniversary of the proclamation of Athens as the Capital of Greece.
On Sunday 1/12/2024, we celebrated the 190th anniversary of the proclamation of Athens as the capital of the new Greek state with a unique concert at Olympia, Municipal Musical Theater "Maria Callas".
The Symphony Orchestra and the Choir of the Municipality of Athens presented works that highlight the timeless values and the historical and cultural significance of the city.
More specifically, we heard the following works:
The Ruins of Athens, Introduction, opus 113 by Ludwig van Beethoven,
Prayer on the Acropolis by Menelaos Palladios and
Saint Philothei the Athenian by Nestor Taylor.
In the role of Saint Philothei, soprano Vasia Alati.

The Mixed Choir of the Municipality of Philothei-Psychiko participated in the performance of Saint Philothei the Athenian.
