"O Katathlas" by Lena Kitsopoulou at the Alte Fablon in Thessaloniki
"O Katathlas" by Lena Kitsopoulou from February 4 to February 19, 2022 every Friday and Saturday at Alte Fablon in Thessaloniki.
This is a short story by Lena Kitsopoulou, by her book "The Big roads" which was adapted into a theatrical monologue by Giannis Didaskalou and Sofia Bletsou.
A man, a woman alone with her sofa, alone with her rug, alone with her eggplant nose, alone with Nelli. Alone with reality.
She has returned to her village, sitting on a sofa and waiting for something to happen. Is it depressing? Probably. But who defines what depression is? A hero, or rather an antihero, who does not hesitate to confront himself, staying out of the conventions of everyday life and the "labels" of a society so that it can exist as someone in it. Against the majority he chooses to do nothing and waits for something to happen.
