Irene Molinari - Mezzosoprano
Born in Rome, she brilliantly graduated in singing from the “Santa Cecilia” Conservatory of Music where she also held the second level degree with honours.
She attended masterclasses held by Daniela Dessì, Simone Alaimo and Bruna Baglioni, internationally acclaimed mezzosoprano under whose guidance she is specializing.
She won national and international opera competitions including: VIII International Opera Competition "Ottavio Ziino" (3rd prize); "Un Concorso per Mascagni" III Edition - Fondazione Teatro Goldoni in Livorno (1st prize).
She interpreted with success until now the roles of Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Rossini), Angelina (La Cenerentola, Rossini), Clarice ((La pietra del paragone, Rossini), Dorabella (Così fan tutte, Mozart), Meg Page (Falstaff, Verdi), Fenena (Nabucco, Verdi), Suzuki (Madama Butterfly, Puccini), Fidalma (Il matrimonio segreto, Cimarosa), Maddalena (Rigoletto, Verdi), Mercedes and Carmen (Carmen, Bizet), Lola (Cavalleria rusticana, Mascagni), Zita (Gianni Schicchi, Puccini), Suora Zelatrice (Suor Angelica, Puccini), Musico (Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali, Donizetti), Giunone (Orphée aux enfers, Offenbach), Moglie dell’Orco (Pollicino, Henze).
As for the sacred repertoire, she performed as soloist in Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Verdi's Requiem, Mozart's Requiem KV626 and Missa in C minor KV427, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle and Stabat Mater, Handel’s Messiah, Jommelli’s Requiem, Saint-Saëns's Oratorio de Noel, and Beethoven’s Symphony N° 9 in D minor op.125.
She performed in important national and international opera houses and festivals such as Nuovo Teatro dell’Opera di Firenze/Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Fondazione Arena di Verona, Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Fondazione Arena di Verona, Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milano, Circuito Opera Lombardia (Bergamo, Brescia, Como, Cremona, Pavia), Teatro Sociale in Parma, Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna, Teatro Coccia in Novara, Circuito Lirico Toscano (Pisa, Lucca, Livorno), Accademia Chigiana di Siena, Teatro Verdi in Busseto, Festival del Luglio Musicale Trapanese, Festival Internazionale di Mezza Estate, Pafos Aphrodite Festival (Cipro), Seoul Arts Center e Busan Bexco Auditorium (South Korea), Shanghai Symphony Hall (China), 29° Macau International Music Festival (Macau, China).
She has also worked with well-known conductors such as M° Gianluigi Gelmetti, Federico Maria Sardelli, Lu Jia, Gaetano D'Espinosa, Paolo Olmi, Myron Michailidis, Xu Zhong, Dejan Savic, Andrea Molino, Francesco Ommassini, Michele Spotti, Stefano Romani, Giovanni Di Stefano, Jacopo Sipari da Pescasseroli, Francesco Pasqualetti, Jacopo Rivani, Carlo Goldstein, Alvise Casellati, Alessandro Cadario; and directors Andrea De Rosa, Chas Rader-Schieber, Jacopo Spirei, Francesco Esposito, Dieter Kaegi, Giorgio Barberio Corsetti, Danilo Rubeca, Mario De Carlo, Renato Bonajuto, Stefania Panighini, Paolo Panizza, Morgan.
She released as alto solo the Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle for Naxos / Finest Art Records label, and the Paisiello’s La Semiramide in Villa in a world premiere execution for Bongiovanni label.
