Hanying Tso - Σοπράνο
Hanying Iaia Tso, is the first Chinese soprano who wins the National Scholarship for Solo Singers from and has soloist engagement with the world-renowned Teatro alla Scala (Milan, Italy), where she studied with the great soprano Leyla Gencer.
Her profound musicianship was enlightened in Taiwan, later she received authentic training in Italy. She gained the Academic Degree Level II (equals to Doctor’s degree) in singing from the Conservatory di Luigi Cherubini in Florence with full marks and honor, and also obtained the Diploma of Specialized Course on Baroque Repertoire from the Formation of the Municipal Theatre Maggio Fiorentino as well as the Diploma of Puccini Academy for Advanced Opera Singers.
With her wide-ranging voice, outstanding singing skills and fantastic performing ability, Tso’s repertoire ranges from classical works to dramatic opera performances, and her interpretation in Puccini’s works is especially praised. Therefore she was invited to perform the role of Principessa Turandot at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago in 2016, making her the first and so far the only Chinese soprano who received the honor to do so.
In 2018 her opera engagements include Aida and Macbeth at the Moldova Opera of Chisinau conductor Andriy Yurkevych, Iaia Tso "Tour of concerts" inTaiwan, the inauguration of the Opening Concert of the International Flower Expo in Taichung, Taiwan, a Gala Concert for the Bernardo De Muro Festival of Tempio Pausania- Sardinia.
In 2019 She is Tosca for Taiwan Philharmonic and Turandot at the National Kausiung Center for the Arts of Taiwan conducted by W. P. Chien where she will perform the same role in season 2020.
Next season she will be Turandot at Petruzzelli di Bari for the Young Artists Project.
Since her debut at the Teatro alla Scala, she has developed an international career as an opera singer, and her engagements have led her to Europe, Asia and Oceania. Her most-recognized repertoire includes Principessa Turandot (Turandot), Abigaille (Nabucco), Norma (Norma), Minnie (La Fanciulla del West), Floria Tosca (Tosca), Mimi (Le Bohème), Giorgetta (Il Tabarro), Angelica (Suor Angelica), Aida (Aida), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Violetta (La Traviata), Santuzza (Cavalleria Rusticana), Leonora (Il Trovatore), Ciocio San (Madama Butterfly), Magda (La Rondine), Manon (Manon Lescaut), etc.

In addition to opera engagements, she is constantly invited to perform in various forms of concerts with symphony orchestras and chamber music. She also devotes to vocal instruction between Europe and Asia.
